Visakhapatnam: Stones were allegedly pelted at the Vande Bharat train going from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam on Friday. The alleged attack by a few unknown miscreants took place before the train reached the Mahabubabad district of Telangana.
After receiving the information about the attack, the Railway Police have launched an investigation.
This is not the first instance of stone pelting at the Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express. On the evening of February 3, Friday, stones were pelted at Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express near Khammam railway station in Telangana. The emergency window glass of the C12 coach of train 20833 was damaged in the incident.
On January 11, Wednesday, the train was attacked at Vizag. Two window panes of the express train were damaged in the incident
“At 6:30 in the evening, somebody pelted stones on the Vande Bharat train in Visakhapatnam. Two window panes were totally shattered and needed to be replaced. This is very unfortunate,” Anup Kumar Satpathy, Divisional Railway Manager was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.
The train started three hours late in Visakhapatnam on February 4 as the glass had to be replaced.
More details are awaited.
Earlier this month, stone pelters had targeted the premium train in Chhattisgarh’s Dadhapara. The glass window panes of the train were broken as a result of stone pelting by unknown individuals.
