By Alan Jose John : The night started with Brock Lesnar taking on Omos, in what turned out to be a quick match. Omos dominated Lesnar for the majority of the match before the Beast was able to produce a comeback and slay the Giant with an F5.
The WrestleMania Showcase match was next on the card with four teams battling it out for the win. Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey let the other three teams battle it out while they took a backseat. As the other six superstars did their best to get one over the other, Rousey would swoop in and make Shotzi tap out and get the win.
The Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat match was the third one on the card for Night 2 as Gunther defended the title against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. The three men tore the house down with the performance. Sheamus and McIntyre were able to keep the champion out of the match for a long period of time and slug it out. However, Gunther came back at the right time and pinned McIntyre to get the win.
The RAW Women’s Championship match between Bianca Belair and Asuka delivered as promised. Both women brought in some hard-hitting offense with Asuka pushing Belair to the limit. The Empress Of Tomorrow tried everything in the book, from the mist to her submission moves. But Belair was able to dig deep and get the win in the end.
The Miz was once again put into a match by Snoop Dogg and this time it was the returning Shane McMahon. However, Shane O’Mac’s big return turned sour quickly as he tweaked his knee and was unable to compete. Snoop Dogg would save the day as he went on to knock out the Miz and hit his version of the People’s Elbow and win the match.
The Grudge match between Edge and Finn Balor inside the Hell In A Cell followed soon with both men looking to tear each other apart. The Demon version of Balor brought the fight to the Rated-R Superstar on the night. A scary moment saw Balor get busted open by a ladder but he continued to finish the match. The bout came to an end with Edge hitting a Con-Chair-To to the Demon and finally slaying him.
The main event was a highly emotional affair for Rhodes, with his family and friends being at ringside. Reigns looked to be in control for the majority of the match with Solo Sikoa also aiding him. Things changed in Rhodes’ favour when he sent Reigns through the announcer’s table and the American Nightmare took control of proceedings.
Sikoa’s effort to help Reigns was caught by the referee. Rhodes hit the Cross Rhodes on Reigns but the Tribbal Chief kicked out at two, much to the surprise of everyone inside the SoFi stadium.
The Tribal Chief’s attempt for a Superman Punch was turned around into a Pedigree by Rhodes, but that wasn’t enough to put the Tribal Chief down for the count.
Reigns thought he had it in the bag when he hit a thunderous Spear. But Rhodes kicked out at the very last moment to keep the match alive.
The referee was knocked out for a brief time and The Usos tried to help Reigns during this time. But Zayn and KO came in to level the playing field and take out Reigns. Rhodes’ pin was a close one but Reigns remained in the battle.
However, Sikoa came back in the end to hand Reigns the win as he hit Rhodes with the Samoan Spike as The Tribal Chief hit the Spear and retained the title.
