Jinyoung of GOT7 is all set to enlist in the military in May this year. Agency BH Entertainment confirmed the same.
By Bhavna Agarwal: Actor-singer Jinyoung, a member of K-pop group GOT7, is all set to enlist in the military next month. The announcement was made on April 5 when it was confirmed that the popular star would serve in the military as an active duty soldier. The date for enlistment is set for May 8, 2023.
JINYOUNG TO ENLIST IN MAY
As per his agency, BH Entertainment, Jinyoung will receive basic military training at the training centre starting May 8. “He will then fulfill his military duty as an active-duty soldier,” the statement read. He is the second member of GOT7 to enlist after Jay B who is currently serving as a public servant during the period.
As soon as the news went viral on the internet, Jinyoung shared a handwritten post on social media assuring fans that there was still time for him to leave. He also told them to not shed tears and assured them he was going to return healthy. Check it out.
ABOUT OTHER GOT7 MEMBERS
Apart from this, GOT7 members Youngjae and Yugyeom will be enlisting next too. Other members, Mark Tuan, Jackson Wang and BamBam won’t have to enlist as they are not South Korean citizens.
Ahead of his enlistment, in January, Jinyoung released his first solo album titled Chapter 0: WITH. He was the last member of GOT7 to release a solo album. Apart from this, he was last seen in Yumi’s Cells 2. He had a small cameo in Reborn Rich as well.
